Your Used Chevrolet Buying Guide for Globe, AZ

Navigating the used car market for a Chevrolet in Globe, AZ, means considering our desert climate and road conditions. This guide is here to help you figure out what to look for, which models perform well, and what we currently have in stock at Horne Nissan and Horne Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram.

What to Check on a Used Chevrolet in Arizona

The heat and dust we experience in Globe can be tough on vehicles. When you're checking out a used Chevrolet, keep an eye on these important areas:

• Tires: Arizona's extreme heat can cause tires to wear out faster. Look for even tread wear, cracks in the sidewalls, and make sure there's enough tread depth. If the tread wears unevenly, it could signal alignment problems.
• Cooling System: With the heat we deal with, the cooling system works overtime. Check for coolant leaks around the radiator, hoses, and water pump. Also, make sure the coolant reservoir is at the right level and the fluid looks clean.
• Air Conditioning: A working AC is essential in our climate. Test it out to make sure it blows cold air consistently and across all fan speeds.
• Rubber Components: Hoses, belts, and other rubber parts get damaged more quickly in the heat. Look for any cracks, brittleness, or excessive wear.
• Interior: The sun can do a number on upholstery, dashboards, and plastic trim. Check for any sun damage on seats, the dashboard, and door panels.
• Air Filter: If you drive on dirt roads, air filters can clog up quickly. A dirty filter can hurt engine performance and fuel efficiency. It’s a simple check that shows how well the previous owner took care of the vehicle.
• Undercarriage: Rust isn't usually a problem in our dry climate, but dust and the occasional rain can cause grime to build up. Check for any damage or excessive dirt accumulation.

In addition to these Arizona-specific checks, always look at the vehicle's maintenance history if it's available. We provide a free Carfax report for all used vehicles at Horne Globe. This report can give you valuable insights into a vehicle's past.

Chevrolet Models Known for Durability

Chevrolet has a solid reputation for building dependable vehicles, and some models stand out for their durability and ability to handle tough conditions. Here are a few you may want to consider when looking for a used Chevrolet:

• Chevrolet Silverado: These full-size trucks are built tough, with powerful engines that make them great for work and play. Their ruggedness often leads to long-lasting reliability.
• Chevrolet Tahoe/Suburban: These large SUVs share a truck platform, offering durability and plenty of space. They're built to handle heavy use and high mileage like champs.
• Chevrolet Equinox: This compact SUV strikes a good balance between fuel efficiency and practicality. Many owners report solid reliability over time.
• Chevrolet Malibu: A well-rounded mid-size sedan known for comfort and reliability, the Malibu makes for a great daily driver.

While these models are generally reliable, remember that the condition and maintenance history of each vehicle are crucial. A thorough inspection and a test drive are essential before making any purchase.
